Technical Officer

Bangkok, Thailand

Akira Kawasaki has been actively involved in enterprise development, focusing on entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Since joining the ILO in 2020, he has managed four technical cooperation projects and facilitated entrepreneurship and business training for over 20,000 people, primarily focusing on youth and vulnerable populations in Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste. Before joining the ILO, Kawasaki worked on supply chain management and SME development in Africa and Latin America for a private sector company based in Japan. He earned his MA degree in International Development from George Washington University.
