5 Year Strategy from 1 July 2009

Better Work is in the start up phase with three pilots in the apparel industry. There has been strong support and many requests for developing activities in different countries and industries around the world. Better Work partners, IFC and ILO, are discussing a roll out strategy to start from 1 July 2009.  These discussions include extending:

• apparel activities to other countries;
• services, such as training products, to countries without a Better Work programme; and
• to new industries such as agriculture.  

ILO and IFC intend to create a single, Multi-Donor Trust Fund and governance structure to support the global programme.
