Training Services
As part of Better Work’s response to compliance challenges faced by enterprises, a series of quality training courses has been designed to support assessment and advisory services with a strong focus on building capacity and ensuring enterprise engagement in the long term. Better Work training grew out of the programme initiated and tested by ILO’s Better Factories Cambodia, and courses are modeled on a similar participatory methodology. Targeted classroom-based instruction allows participants the chance to identify issues of concern, learn from the experience of others in the industry and find practical solutions for themselves. The majority of Better Work training activities involve bipartite stakeholders (management and workers), and topics range from ILO core labour standards and workers’ rights and responsibilities to human resources management, supervisory skills and occupational safety and health, among others.
While certain aspects of Better Work training activities require facilitators with significant international and technical experience, the programme also supports developing the skills of local trainers and training institutions. In addition to training offered by our own staff, Better Work identifies and engages with local partners, and provides them with rigorous training needed to deliver our services with a high level of excellence and integrity.
