Vietnam
Better Work Vietnam aims to improve compliance with labour standards and promote competitiveness in Vietnam’s apparel industry by assessing current workplace conditions and offering customized advisory and training services to factories to address their individual needs.
The programme works with government, employers, workers and international buyers to ensure a relevant and sustainable approach.
The initial focus of Better Work Vietnam is Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding regions.
Better Work Vietnam, which became operational in June 2009, is initially designed as a five-year programme. The goal is to develop a sustainable approach that will allow the programme to continue independent operations after this five year period.
Better Work Vietnam aims to improve conditions for roughly 150,000 workers in the first two years and up to 700,000 over five years.
Better Work Vietnam is funded by the Australian Government.
