Multinational corporations are increasingly taking notice of labour standards in their supply chains. Concern about persistent non-compliance with labour law and international standards has led many corporations to individually audit working conditions in their sourcing factories, often duplicating the same auditing efforts by other buyers sourcing from the same factories. This is expensive, inefficient and frustrating for everyone involved.
The programme achieves measurable progress in compliance with international core labour standards and national labour law, and at the same time considerably reduces duplicate auditing. By reducing costs associated with identifying the problems, more funds can be redirected, by both buyers and factories, to finding and implementing actual solutions.
Better Work focuses on the development of sustainable, credible, locally owned and scalable solutions in supplier countries.
